“The world’s most prominent women leaders show the importance of honesty, courage, impact, and decisive action in leadership.” —Oprah
The teaching of history to our young people, too frequently, may slide into a litany of the accomplishments of famous men, while omitting the equally important work of the opposite sex. Though in no way diminishing the accomplishments of men, it becomes crucial for us to read and learn about these wonderful women who advocated for an equal world, where everyone’s thoughts are valued and respected.
The assembly commenced with the Morning Prayer which provides peace and serenity to our minds and souls. Followed by a morning song-‘Teri hai zameen’ by class choir. Learners shared the ongoing and upcoming events of the School and International news with everyone. To highlight the value of women’s contribution in the society, a riveting short skit was put forward by the learners. They spoke about the contribution made by great personalities like Maya Angelou, Amelia Earhart, Margaret Thatcher, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Kamala Harris, Malala Yousafzai, and Rosa Parks. The skit enlightened us that how each one of them had to fight for their place in the society.
Everyone was left inspired by these stories about women who stood up, spoke out, struggled through, and soared.
