Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram hosted the prestigious CBSE National Science Exhibition on 7 February 2023 on the school campus. LVISG on behalf of CBSE provided a platform to showcase the exhibits on the theme ‘Technology and Toys’ with 7 sub themes under the categories, grades 6 to 8 and Grades 9 to 11 with an aim to pursue natural curiosity, innovative ideas, providing scope for inventive, critical thinking and problem solving, to create awareness about environmental issues and concerns, apply mathematics and information technology to visualise and solve real-world problems, encourage learners to foresee the future of the planet and help them become sensitive and responsible human beings. It was indeed exhilarating to witness the zestful strength of 458 participating schools and around 1400 students and teacher mentors from far-flung areas conglomerated with enigmatic energy.
Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram, with engaging elation and musical rendition welcomed the dignitaries Ms Nidhi Chibber, IAS, Chairperson CBSE, Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Director Academics, CBSE and other officials from CBSE. Esteemed judges, Principals, accompanying teachers/ mentors and students from various schools across India and abroad were given a hearty welcome at the Inaugural Ceremony. A warm welcome was extended to our distinguished Chairperson, Ms Jaspreet Kaur and our venerable member of the Managing Committee, Ms Sureena Uppal, for gracing the Event with their benign presence. The Director-Principal, Mrs Anita Malhotra remarked as she felicitated the Dignitaries, “We are humbled beyond words to host this truly magnificent congregation of the brightest of minds, brimming with zeal and talent and driven by passion and innovation.”
The Green Grounds of Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram were swarmed with octonorm stalls exhibiting static and working models presented expressively by the brilliant contributors of the National Science Exhibition. The co-participants, mentors, and leading experts in the field of science got an opportunity to learn about different facets of science. The arcade had contestants like Shreya Sharma and Jiya Anand of Class VIII from Eicher School, Faridabad who had come up with a local solution to the Stubble Burning issue. Khyaati Joshi and Krishna Thapar from Class XI BCM Arya Model Sr. Sec School, Ludhiana had solutions to 150 concepts in the M3 Lab designed by them. Dhanbad Public School, Jharkhand was represented by Ahan, Prtyaya Amrit who had designed the Electromagnetic Rail Launch on the model of INS Vikramaditya. Various stalls of scrumptious eateries added to the opulence of the event.
Ms Nidhi Chibber, IAS, Chairperson CBSE, thanked and applauded the Director-Principal for hosting the prestigious event at Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram with adroitness and diligence. She remarked, “Participation in the Science exhibition allows the young thinkers to explore real-world challenges, learn more about science and technology and apply scientific ideas to solve them. I feel nostalgic and elated to see our future nation builders brimming with zest using the methods and processes of science, such as observation, questioning, planning investigations, hypothesizing, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.”
