Igniting Change for a Sustainable Future
Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram, hosted a two-day Inter-School event, ‘PRABHAVNA: Igniting Change for a Sustainable Future’ on 13th and 14th October ,2023. The event provided a platform for schools in the Delhi-NCR region to collaborate and address global challenges while promoting sustainable development goals. The commitment and creative effervescence of young learners found expression through diverse competitions encompassing arts, science, and technology during the course of the event.
The Director-Principal of Lotus Valley, Ms. Anita Malhotra, emphasized the need to shape a sustainable and equitable future in her welcome address. She stated, "In this era of change, we have the power and the responsibility to shape a future that is sustainable, equitable, and full of promise.”
Day 1 of Prabhavna featured a diverse range of activities, all aimed at exploring the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative approaches. These activities included a mesmerizing showcase of women change-makers- Aitihasik Safar, contemplative photography- Talking Frames, artistic endeavours - Inspirations and Aspirations , innovative science models Chase to Cut, voicing of deepest thoughts- Mann ki Baat and technology related games- Capture the Flag.
The Valedictory Ceremony on Day 2 was graced by Chief Guest Major (Dr.) Mohommed Ali Shah. He captivated the audience with a wondrous tapestry of heroic tales and legendary stories of great sons of India which was nothing short of magic.
The event was marked by a montage of splendid events such as the celebration of innovative music-Street Beats, the rib-tickling Hasya Pitara, poetic prowess-Pro-Diom, inspiriting Inspirations and Aspirations, thought provoking -Ad Critique, and ingenious -Sustainability Ke Khiladi on Day 2.
Inspiring musical renditions ‘Believe’ and ‘Khayal Rakhna’ by the mellifluous learners of Lotus Valley beautifully brought out self-belief and the spirit of humanity. The Prabhavna journey was captured and showcased in a captivating showreel Prabhavana Ka Safar, followed by a heartwarming dance performance and finally the Commendation Convocation. The events were judged by esteemed jury members Mr. Saurabh Chaudhary and Mr. Pritish Narula on Day 1 and Ms. Ekta Srivastava, Ms.Nancy Sharma, Ms. Nancy Gupta and Dr. Sakshi Arora on Day 2.
PRABHAVNA was a resounding success, bringing together creativity and talent, and inspiring hope for a sustainable and equitable world. Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram were declared as the Winning team.
