Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram organized an Educational Exchange Programme to Vietnam for Grades VII-XII learners from 24th September to 29th September 2023 with the aim to offer them a unique opportunity to explore the rich culture, history, and traditions of the captivating Country- Vietnam. The Director-Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra and the Vice Principal, Primary & Middle Wing, Ms. Ritu Jawa accompanied the learners on this wonderful expedition.
The 5-day Trip was a remarkable blend of academic insights, cultural experiences, and adventure.
The tour also included visits to some of Vietnam's most iconic tourist destinations, such as the ancient town of Hoi An, Ngoc Son Temple, Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, Hoan Kiem Lake, The Old Quarter, Visit to Amusement Park in Sun world Halong Complex , Hanoi Bamboo Silk and Laquer Shops and more. To add on , the Water Puppet Show, dating back to the 11th century, gave an insight into Vietnamese folklore.
One of the highlights of the trip was shopping at local markets, where students had the chance to interact with Vietnamese vendors and learn about the art of negotiation. A visit to a Ha Long Pearl Farm was an equally fascinating and educational experience that provided insight into the meticulous process of pearl cultivation thus gaining an understanding of the various stages involved in pearl farming. This hands-on experience taught our students the valuable life skills and emphasized the importance of appreciating the craftsmanship behind locally made products.
1-night, 2-day trip to Halong Bay on Syrena Cruise was truly a delight. The stunning landscapes, serene waters, and unique experiences made it a memorable journey. The adventure began as we boarded our cruise ship, ready to explore the natural wonders of Halong Bay. The first day was filled with excitement as we set sail and cruised through the emerald waters, surrounded by towering limestone karsts. One of the highlights of the trip was the stopover to visit the popular caves in Halong Bay. The Thien Cung Cave, also known as the Heavenly Palace Cave, was a mesmerizing labyrinth of stalactites and stalagmites, illuminated by colorful lights that created a mystical ambiance. Exploring these ancient caves gave students a glimpse into the geological history of the region and left us in awe of the wonders of nature.
As the sun began to set, learners enjoyed a delectable dinner on board the cruise, with a backdrop of the bay's tranquil waters. The evening continued with activities like on-board cookery session with music and dance adding spark to the ambience, creating unforgettable memories.
Overall, our 1-night, 2-day trip in Halong Bay was a delightful adventure that allowed students to connect with nature, explore hidden caves, and immerse themselves in the unique culture of the floating villages. It was a journey that left them with deep appreciation for the beauty of Halong Bay.
