WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS WITH THE NGO - R N Malhotra and Anna R. Malhotra Charitable Trust

We at Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram are dedicated to build a community. focussing to Empower, Educate and Skill each citizen with our commitment to Education and Duty to give back to the Society.
With these thoughts, our School partnered with the NGO -R N Malhotra and Anna R. Malhotra Charitable Trust to help them upskill their Teaching Staff and by providing them extensive Teacher Training Workshops.
Under the fine mentorship of the Director-Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra, the LVISG Team organised its First workshop “Joys of learning” on 25th November 2023 for the teachers of the above mentioned NGO. The day commenced with a Welcome Address by the Director-Principal who graciously opened the gates of the Institution for collaborative Teaching-Learning and gave assurance for continued support in building the necessary 21st Century skills in teachers to match the needs of the present Education System. The Managing Trustee, Ms. Divya Malik Lahiri expressed her gratefulness to Ms. Malhotra for taking the initiative by extending full support to the Organisation and for her large-hearted and philanthropic nature.
The Director-Principal along with the School Leadership Team comprising of Ms. Ritu Jawa-Vice Principal, Ms. Ekta Anand –Headmistress, Ms. Preeti Garkhel, Head of the Counselling Department and Ms. Sonali Dayal, Senior Counsellor opened the Workshop with an Ice-Breaking activity – ‘Jab we Met’ to build a rapport between the NGO and LVISG Team of teachers. The activity provided moments of catharsis and emotional healing for teachers and also addressed the importance of forming a strong bond with the students. This was followed by invigorating Sessions highlighting various facets, from identifying each learner’s need to building a joyful learning environment to building a student-centric system of education by removing barriers and bridging gaps. Pertinent topics, such as forming emotional connect with the learners despite diversity in ability were also addressed. New perspectives were realized by learning innovative behaviour modification techniques and understanding role of teachers by designing Portrait of A Teacher. They were also acquainted with POCSO Act to ensure safety protocol as per Government Guidelines. The Experiential Workshop offered a platform for open discussion with innumerable hands-on activities.
The Take-away from the Session was the importance ‘Praise and Prize’ for each child’s Holistic ‘Raise and Rise’
It is indeed time for us to Remove the Barriers and Re-Move ourselves for a better and brighter Future
