“The more I learn, the more I realise how much I still have to learn.”

Learners of Lotus Valley International School attended a workshop on basic Karate on 30th November’21. It was conducted by Riyana Singh from Grade 1 Hummingbirds along with her father Mr. Ravneet Singh. Riyana has mastered Karate's self-defense moves and proudly adorns a second purple belt. Her father, Mr. Singh is also a second-degree Black Belt in Karate. He is the disciple of Karate Grandmaster Kang H. Rhee, who has mentored famous celebrities, one among them being the Rockstar, Elvis Presley and many more.

The father-daughter duo gave an overview of Karate to our learners to ignite interest for Martial Arts in them. Learners were apprised about the history, origin and different types of martial arts. With the help of a presentation, they also talked about Karate and its various belt levels. Riyana demonstrated basic self-defense moves and Mr. Singh encouraged the audience to participate by following her steps accordingly. To keep up with the enthusiasm of the learners, a rapid fire quiz was conducted after the presentation.

Headmistress, Ms. Ritu Jawa appreciated their efforts and thanked them for the inspirational session. A ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ was presented as a token of gratitude from the Director-Principal,Ms. Anita Malhotra to honour their participation.
