The Ganges is a mystical Indian river that embodies divinity, spirituality, purity, and moksha. The very name 'Ganga' conjures up a picture of holiness, peace and joy, beauty and sweetness, of all that is uplifting to the mind of an individual.
Every year on 4thNovember, the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) hosts a three-day festival called 'Ganga Utsav' to honour the river's significance in our lives. We at Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram, celebrated Ganga Utsav on Monday, November 8th, 2021, with a variety of activities such as storytelling, ethnography, quizzes, traditional art-forms, and much more, all with the goal of establishing a strong connection with the pristine river and its ecology in particular.
Learners of Grades Pre-Nursery to Grade III took pride in learning intriguing facts and information about the nation's river, including its origins, religious, cultural, national, and spiritual significance. Learners from all grades worked to make eye-catching posters to raise awareness about the importance of saving the river and measures to keep it clean.
River Ganga is not just a river, it is a symbol of something higher than what the world has to offer. If Himalaya is a yogin steeped in meditation, Ganga, rising from his heart is the culmination of that meditation. The day came to an end with promise in the hearts of every individual to safeguard the purity of the river by taking necessary measures.
